We so often hear this scripture about how the enemy has come only to destroy and this is true, each day of our lives, the enemy is plotting and scheming of ways to attack us. The enemy's sole purpose in life is try to get us away from God and destroy everything is his path. The good news is there is a second part to that scripture! Jesus came into the world to save us, to save us from the enemy, to save us from ourselves. God sent Jesus into the world so that we would have life more abundantly. Aren’t you glad that we have a friend in Jesus that He laid down his life for each of us so that we can have life to the fullest. The enemy will try every day to bring us down but as long as we continue to trust in God, He will continue to lift us up. While the enemy continues to try to destroy us, Jesus will continue, will forever and always, look out for each of us, will put us where He wants us to be, and lead us in the direction He wants us to go all while looking out and protecting us from the attacks of the enemy. Be alert and stay focused on God because as long as you stay focused on Him the tricks and schemes of the enemy will not come to pass, the good Shepherd, Jesus, will protect you, and provide you with life of abundancy.
10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.12 The hired hand is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. 13 The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.
14 “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep.
