Daily Scripture: Pray First

As humans we are quick jump into a situation or into doing something without thinking it through first.  Or we will “think” about it and think that we have all the answers.  This is especially true when it comes to matters of the heart.  When somebody wrong us or say something out of the way we are quick to act and respond to their actions without thinking things through.  But there is something that we can learn from Nehemiah, before he did anything, answered or left to attempt to take care of the problem, he prayed unto God first.  Even when the king asked Nehemiah what it is that Nehemiah wanted, he prayed to God for the answer to the question.  We must all learn to go before the throne of Christ in prayer FIRST, because our lives are about His will and what He wants for us.  Before you respond to that message you received from the enemy with evil intent, pray about it.  Before you act in response to your emotions, pray about it.  Before you attempt to get yourself out of that hardship with what you think is the answer, pray about it.  Before you jump into another relationship or even friendship, pray about it.  Our answers are never valid if it is not the answer from God.  Remember in everything, PRAY FIRST AND ACT SECOND!!!

so the king asked me, “Why does your face look so sad when you are not ill? This can be nothing but sadness of heart.”
I was very much afraid, but I said to the king, “May the king live forever! Why should my face not look sad when the city where my ancestors are buried lies in ruins, and its gates have been destroyed by fire?
The king said to me, “What is it you want?”
Then I prayed to the God of heaven, and I answered the king, “If it pleases the king and if your servant has found favor in his sight, let him send me to the city in Judah where my ancestors are buried so that I can rebuild it.”

Daily Scripture: Pray Through It

No one is immune to the trials and tribulations of life but we must learn to continuously pray through the storms of life.  We sometimes get so overtaken by what’s going on that we talk to everybody around us and ask them for help with our problems except the one that matters the most, the only one that has the solutions to all of our problems.  Not only are we to pray about it but we also must believe by faith what we are praying for, believe that God will provide and answer all of our prayers, and if He doesn’t answer the way you want Him to it’s because He has something better in store for you.  Sickness. Pray.  Family Problems. Pray.  Financial Problems. Pray.  Sadness. Pray.  Mourning. Pray.  Whatever it may be that is giving you hardships, pray about it.  There’s power in prayer and through your faith and prayers, God can turn your problems around right before your very eyes.  God is waiting on each of us to talk with Him about our problems, to hand over our burdens to Him, for He is the only one that can take care of whatever it is you are going through.  Whenever you’re in the midst of the storm know that you are not alone, God is right there with you. So keep walking, keep fighting and continue to pray through it all! Have you prayed about it as much as you’ve talked about it?

13 Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oilin the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
~James 5:13-16
