Daily Scripture: Our Own Personal Bodyguards

We are constantly under attack by the enemy, for the enemy has come to kill, steal and destroy.  Some of these attacks we see with our own eyes but there are also some attacks against us that we know nothing about.  These attacks are taken care of without us even knowing anything about them. How is that?  God has us all surrounded and regardless of whether you know it or not, you have your own personal bodyguards protecting you each and every day.  God is our shield and because we have that shield, God makes sure that we are covered and saves us from harm and disaster.  We are all surrounded by God’s angels that He has commanded to guard us in everything concerning us, that He has commanded to lift us so that we will not stumble or be harmed, that they lift us up above the enemy.  There’s a lot of snakes in this world, some that are so hidden that we don’t even know that they’re there, but because of our guard of protection we can walk among the snakes in our lives and still come out unharmed and trampling them along the way.  Keep your head up, don’t be afraid of your surroundings because you have a special group of bodyguards that’s protecting you from dangers seen and unseen.

If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”
    and you make the Most High your dwelling,
10 no harm will overtake you,
    no disaster will come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
    to guard you in all your ways;
12 they will lift you up in their hands,
    so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
    you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

Journey of Life

On November 2, 2007, I sat on the front pew of Greater Bellevue Baptist Church and the only words I remember hearing is "Brittney stay strong" whispered in my ear by my mother as Bentley asked did anyone want to view my mother's body for the last time before they closed the casket. Panic then set in and my whole life flashed before my eyes. I still feel that a major part of me, that I will never get back was also buried 6 feet deep at Cherry Blossom on the 2nd of November.

Since that day life has been a journey, major ups and major downs, but I continue to hold on to those words "Brittney stay strong, they need you". An associate of mine recently pointed out on a post on my Instagram page, "Always wanted to know how you lived through that.. Even in college I never had enough guts to ask."

Life's Angels: Sally

Today I met the grandmother of one of my customers and boy was she funny.  She stated that her granddaughter was upset with her because she didn't go with her to try on wedding dresses on Sunday because she was busy watching the Falcons game. (Yes she chose the Falcons game over her grandmother trying on wedding gowns lol).  She was a very outspoken individual and she talked about how she was depressed because she thought the Falcons were going to lose and how sad she is that this is Tony Gonzalez last year.

Well after going on and on about the Falcons she went on to say that her granddaughter is always telling her that she talks too much and embarrasses her.  But having a near death experience two months ago she said that it put a perspective on her life, that life is entirely too short to worry about everybody thinks about you or to worry about the little things in life.

Life's Angels: Janet

Every now and then we meet individuals that will bring tears to your eyes and make you feel horrible for all the complaining you've done in life.

Meet Ms. Janet...

Ms. Janet is a cancer survivor who will tell you right off bat by the grace of God I'm standing here today.  Off of first impressions if you can tell that something is wrong with Ms. Janet, her speech is very slow, she sometimes get hung up on words, and gets irritated really easily which sometimes leads to crying.  It's not until you talk to Janet and get to know her that you find out her life story.

Ms. Janet found out two years ago that she has a brain tumor.  After surgery, extensive chemotherapy and radiation Ms. Janet can now stand here and say that she his cancer free and so happy to be alive.  She will tell you that she should not be standing here today and that she is so happy that she is still alive.  Ms. Janet has recently had the ability to see her first grandchild born and will soon witness her son walk the aisle, two things she says that she would not have been able to witness without God's mercy.

Meeting Ms. Janet was truly very touching and humbling and it has taught me to never take life for grant, have faith in God and he will get you through every obstacle.  Be thankful for life for you never know what day will be your last or if you will make it to see such wonderful joys in this world.  Never take anything for granted.

Life's Angels: Roxie

Yesterday I met an older lady that really touched my heart, so in meeting her I decided I would a segment for Life: The Rollercoaster entitled Life's Angels for those individuals that meet along this rollercoaster of life that touch my heart in one or another.
